Create your artistic response to a contemporary legend and exhibit your work in London! 

We are inviting UK-based visual artists to participate in a collaborative journey of mythmaking—interpreting original texts that explore womanhood, femininity, and queer experiences through themes of survival, folklore, cultural memory, and transformation.

Create new vision that reflect, question, and recreate our present day.

How It Works (The Stages)

Step 1: Register Your Interest Today
Submit a short bio and a link to your portfolio to enter the selection process.
Deadline: 21st of November 

Step 2: Legend Matching
Once selected, we will match you with a text of an original contemporary legend written specifically for this project.

Step 3: Creation Phase
You will have 1.5 months to develop and create your original artistic response to the chosen legend.
Deadline: 16th of January

Step 4: Submission of Artwork
Submit your completed artwork alongside high-resolution documentation.

Step 5: London Exhibition & Beyond (February 2027)
Your work will be featured in a curated physical exhibition in London alongside the original written text. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our public programme and oral storytelling sessions.

We welcome all visual forms and mediums, including but not limited to:

• Fine art & painting

• Sculpture & installation

• Textiles & fiber arts

• Digital art (human-created; AI-generated works are strictly excluded)

• Performance & video art

• Mixed media & photography

Theme & Vision

This project bridges traditional storytelling with contemporary practice. We are building a space where modern legends are given tangible visual form. Artists of any background and from various cultural perspectives are warmly encouraged to bring their unique artistic language to this collective practice.

Eligibility
Open to 20+ artists based in the United Kingdom.  
Emerging, established, and first-time artists are all encouraged to apply.

Submission Guidelines:

Short Bio: Up to 400 words (PDF format).

Portfolio: Link to a PDF portfolio, personal website, or dedicated art Instagram page.

One registration per artist.

The final artwork created must be original and never before exhibited.

AI-generated artwork is strictly not accepted.
